Author Guidelines

Dear Esteemed Authors,

We extend our gratitude for entrusting us with the publication of your manuscript.

Important Notes:

You may utilize the following checklist as a reference prior to submitting your manuscript. We kindly request that you meticulously review the guidelines in accordance with the writing standards and stylistic conventions employed by the Media Informasi Journal.

Please ensure that your manuscript is accompanied by: Identification of one corresponding author, inclusive of contact particulars:

  • An active email address
  • A mailing address

It is imperative for authors to utilize an active email address and to consistently monitor their Media Informasi account (login-submission-view-scroll down to the chat section under "add discussion"—reply to the chat and upload revisions in the "add discussion" section). Authors will receive notifications via email and their Media Informasi account (chat-add discussion) pertaining to the manuscript management process. We adhere to a policy of rejecting manuscripts if there is no response from the author within 10-15 business days following the editor's or reviewer’s recommendation for revisions.

The expediency of decision-making regarding manuscript publication is contingent upon the promptness of the reviewer’s evaluation and the timeliness with which the author submits the revised manuscript.

In alignment with the standardization of journal management and submission quotas, Media Informasi enforces a policy permitting a maximum of 2-3 articles per author/account submitted annually. Consequently, we will decline submissions in the same year for any fourth manuscript and beyond, thereby allowing the author the opportunity to submit articles to alternative journals, thus mitigating protracted publication timelines. *Authors are welcome to resubmit manuscripts in the subsequent year.

The submitted manuscript should encompass:

  • Keywords
  • Figures (in accordance with the specified guidelines)
  • Tables (complete with titles, explanations, and footnotes, if applicable)
  • Ensure that all supplementary figures and tables adhere to the requirements and file size limitations.
  • Pay careful attention to the application of color to guarantee clarity and suitability for printing.

Pre-Submission Preparation

Prior to uploading your manuscript to our journal's OJS template, please verify the following:

  • Research Ethics

Confirm that your research has obtained ethics clearance from the Health Research Ethics Committee (KEPK).

  • Conflict of Interest

Authors are advised against naming any organizations or parties involved in the research to maintain objectivity and eliminate potential conflicts of interest. We strongly advocate for the practice of blinding in research endeavors.

  • Statement of Consent to Publication and Verification

A declaration affirming that the research constitutes the author's original work and has not been disseminated elsewhere (excluding abstracts and publications in repositories), whether in print or electronic formats. Should any instance of duplicate publication be identified, the editor reserves the right to revoke the publication and impose sanctions, including the non-acceptance of manuscripts for a period of two years subsequent to publication.

  • Author Replacement

The substitution of authors is permissible, provided it adheres to the established author replacement confirmation protocol and occurs prior to the manuscript being deemed accepted and prepared for publication (before the final editing phase). Requests for author replacement submitted following the final editing stage will not be entertained. This process necessitates the completion of an author replacement form, which the corresponding author must submit alongside a justification for the replacement, reduction, or addition of authors, communicated via email correspondence. Should the rationale be deemed acceptable and align with the editorial board's guidelines, the request may be granted, or the manuscript may be withdrawn from consideration.

  • Copyright

Copyright is held by the journal management in the format of electronic and/or printed journal publications (in accordance with e-ISSN and ISSN), facilitating their availability for sale. The author retains the rights to their scholarly work for utilization within scientific networks (literature citations).

The review process is conducted through a double-blind methodology, ensuring that neither the reviewer nor the author is privy to the identities of the other, thus preserving objectivity and mitigating potential conflicts of interest. Consequently, correspondence addresses and email addresses will be excised from the body of the manuscript throughout the review process.

Manuscript Structure

Writing Rules

Manuscripts must be composed in English. Authors are required to utilize a template available for download from the Media Informasi website. The manuscript should be formatted on A4 paper, employing Cambria font, size 14, with single spacing (with the exception of titles, footnotes, tables, and figures, which are specified separately). The title must be articulated in English, accompanied by the English title when applicable. Foreign terminology should be italicized. The decimal separator should be a comma, maintaining two decimal places (e.g., 5.75, p-value 0.00, standard deviation 10.32).

  • Title

The title should be succinct, consistent, informative, and clear, devoid of abbreviations. It should capitalize the initial letters of words denoting locations (specific locations are not permitted to uphold integrity and avert conflicts of interest) and names. The title must be left-aligned, bold, size 14, and should not exceed 18 words.

  • Author and Affiliations

Author names should be presented in Cambria font, size 11, bold, and should be accompanied by their affiliations and correspondence email addresses positioned beneath the name. Names must be fully articulated without abbreviations and should exclude academic or non-academic titles, including honors or accolades.

  • Correspondence Author

Explicitly designate the individual responsible for each phase of the manuscript submission process. This designation should be rendered in Cambria font, size 10. It is imperative that the correspondence email address remains active.

  • Abstract

The abstract serves as a succinct summary of the manuscript, written in English. It must adhere to the "IMRAD" formatting guidelines. The abstract is to be composed in a single paragraph, comprising 200-250 words, without quotations, in 10-point font, single-spaced. The abstract should also incorporate keywords, ranging from 3 to 6, which are essential for guiding readers to your journal; thus, paraphrases or phrases are not permissible (keywords must be presented as individual words).

  • Introduction

The introduction constitutes the core of the manuscript, succinctly and clearly articulating the research background, problem statement, foundational theory, and supplementary information pertinent to the research. The research problem statement should be articulated clearly and compellingly within the background, presented in Cambria font, size 11.

  • Methods

The methodology section delineates the research design, location and duration of the study, population, sample size, and sampling method. It also encompasses the research variables, data collection methods, and data analysis techniques. Please include the ethical certification number (Cambria 11).

  • Results

The results section encapsulates the research findings, presented in a narrative format, supplemented by tables and/or figures, alongside statistical test results accompanied by explanations devoid of discussion. Titles for tables should be positioned above, while titles for figures should be located below (Times New Roman 10). Tables and figures must adhere to the Media Informasi journal template.

The discussion should not merely rehash the research results; rather, it should encapsulate a brief summary of the key findings, supporting arguments, a discourse on other relevant published research outcomes, and the implications of the findings for the advancement and enrichment of science and technology in society (Cambria 11).

  • Conclusions and Suggestions

The conclusion should provide a concise statement of the findings in relation to the problem statement and objectives. The suggestions should offer recommendations for problem resolution, enhancement, and technological advancement based on the conclusions drawn (Cambria 11).

  • Acknowledgments

If applicable, this section may be omitted (Cambria 11).
