Policy of Screening for Plagiarism

All manuscripts must be free from plagiarized content. Authors are advised to use plagiarism detection software to check for similarity of content. Editors detect plagiarism in articles submitted to this Media Informasi Journal using the Grammarly Plagiarism Checker (www.grammarly.com) and iThenticate (www.turnitin.com) software since December 2022. The maximum limit for plagiarism according to the provisions is 25%.

Definition of Plagiarism is an intentional or unintentional act to obtain credit or value for a scientific work. Namely by citing part or all of the work and/or scientific work from other parties that have been recognized as scientific work without citing the source properly and accurately. For this reason, the: Articles must be original, have never been published, and are not in the process of waiting for publication in other journals. As for material taken verbally from other sources, it is necessary to identify it clearly, so that it will produce a manuscript that is different from the original text. If plagiarism is identified, the editor-in-chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will take action according to the level of plagiarism detected, with the following guidelines:

Plagiarism Level Type 1: Plagiarizing some short sentences from other articles without citing the source.

Type 1 action: The author is given a warning and an appeal to change the text and cite correctly.

Type 2: Plagiarizing most of the article from other sources without proper citation and not citing the source.

Type 2 action: The article that has been submitted by the author will be rejected for publication in the Media Information Journal and the author may also be subject to sanctions in the form of not being allowed to publish the manuscript again in this Media Information Journal.

All article authors are responsible for the content of the articles they submit to the Media Information Journal. If the article submitted by the author falls into the category of plagiarism, then all authors of the article will receive the same action. If the author is proven to have submitted a manuscript to the Media Information Journal and also another journal simultaneously, where this overlap is discovered during the review process or after publication, then action will be taken according to type 2. If plagiarism is found in a category outside the provisions above, then the editor has the right to impose sanctions according to the policies of the Media Information Journal editorial team.
