Death certificate registration is an important process in the health system that involves detailed documentation of the conditions that led to death, including diseases, injuries, accidents, and other external factors. This certificate serves as official evidence explaining the cause of death and is used by various parties, including families, hospitals, and health authorities. This process involves recording the underlying causes responsible for a series of conditions that end in death, such as chronic diseases, infections, or acute trauma. Perinatal death, which includes fetal death at 22 weeks of gestation and above and infant death within the first 7 days of life, is one of the indicators of public health. In Indonesia, the perinatal mortality rate is still high and reflects challenges in the health system. Recording perinatal death certificates is an important aspect of the public health system that aims to identify, document, and analyze deaths that occur during the perinatal period. One effort to reduce perinatal mortality is through accurate recording on death certificates, which can help in understanding the causes of death and developing appropriate intervention strategies.
