https://ejurnal2.poltekkestasikmalaya.ac.id/index.php/ichet/article/view/598

Background: Early childhood caries (ECC) is a significant global health problem affecting nearly half of pre-schoolers worldwide. Some research suggests that formula consumption patterns, including duration, frequency, timing, and mode of consumption, may affect ECC risk. Previous research found that infants with early childhood caries had an acidic salivary pH, while caries-free infants had a normal salivary pH. The purpose of the study was to analyze the relationship of formula milk to the salivary pH of preschool children. Research Methods using analytical surveys. The cross-sectional study approach is to look for the relationship between formula milk consumption and salivary pH. The sample in this study was 48 students of SPS TA'AM Mathlaul Anwar Kota Tasikmalaya aged 3 to 6 years. The results of the Spearman Correlation test obtained p of 0.001 (p < 0.05) with the result r -709 means a strong relationship. This study concludes that there is a strong and unidirectional relationship that the more often you consume formula milk, the lower the salivary pH in preschool children
Lina Rismayani, Dilla Nayla Najah

https://ejurnal2.poltekkestasikmalaya.ac.id/index.php/ichet/article/view/600

Background Babies who are not exclusively breastfed are at risk of experiencing infectious diseases, chronic diseases, and nutritional problems, if not handled further will result in stunting. The exclusive breastfeeding coverage of Tasikmalaya City in 2022 is 70.01% and Cibeureum Health Center is 56.07%. Indonesia sets a target of exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months of 80%. Some of the causes of low exclusive breastfeeding coverage are lack of health education, lack of maternal knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding and dairy breastfeeding, the increasingly widespread promotion of formula milk, working mothers, maternal age, and maternal and infant health, so health education media about exclusive breastfeeding and dairy breastfeeding are needed to facilitate exclusive breastfeeding coverage. Purpose Creating audio visual media SI MERAH (Edukasi Manajemen ASI Perah) is an educational media based on animated videos about dairy breastfeeding management. Methods Research using Research and Development (R&D) consists of 9 research steps, namely, potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trials, product revisions, usage trials and product revisions. The sampling technique uses proportional random sampling. The number of product trial samples was 8 third trimester pregnant women and the trial use of 49 second and third trimester pregnant women. Results Final assessment of material experts 4.86 categories very feasible, media experts 4.96 categories very feasible. The value of small-scale product trials of 3.9 categories is feasible and large scale use trials of 4.74 categories are very feasible. Conclusion SI MERAH audio visual media is in the very decent category.
Bunga Diana Natapani

https://ejurnal2.poltekkestasikmalaya.ac.id/index.php/ichet/article/view/601

Thalassemia is a hereditary blood disorder. The main principle for preventing thalassemia is to avoid marriage between individuals who have thalassemia. Adolescence is the stage of life closest to marriage. One way to increase knowledge is through health education, where pocketbooks and animation videos are examples of media that can be using for health education. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of health education using pocketbooks and animation videos in improving knowledge about thalassemia among adolescents. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest design and a control group was employed in this study, consisting of 29 respondents in each group. Normality was tested using Skewness Test. Statistical analysis was conducted using paired sample T-test and independent sample T-test. The results of this study showed a significant difference in knowledge levels between the pretest and posttest in both groups, with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. The independent sample T-test yielded a p-value of 0.043 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in effectiveness between the intervention group that received pocketbooks and animation videos and the control group that only received pocketbooks. Health education using pocketbooks and animation videos is effective for improving adolescents' knowledge about thalassemia
Deva Geofahni, Dini Mariani, Asep Riyana
