PEER EDUCATOR MODELING IN IMPROVING ADOLESCENT GIRLS’ KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ANEMIA AT MTS BPI BATUROMPE TASIKMALAYA CITY IN 2023

Anemia is a health problem caused by a lack of hemoglobin in the body. Anemia in adolescent girls has a very serious risk impact. This will have a more significant impact if the adolescent girls does not have good knowledge about anemia, therefore adolescent girls need health education. Based on the facts found in the adolescent environment, that adolescent girls choose peers as discussion partners, so health education is implemented through peer educator modeling. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of peer educator modeling in increasing adolescent girls' knowledge about anemia at MTs BPI Baturompe Tasikmalaya City in 2023. This type of research uses quasi-experimental research methods. The research design used one group pre test - post test design. The population of this research were all adolescent girls at MTs BPI Baturompe Tasikmalaya City as many as 133 female students. The sample technique used proportionate stratified random sampling with samples taken as many as 110 female students. The results of the research data were processed through the wilcoxon sign rank test. The results of this research indicate that all adolescent girls have a good knowledge category. The statistical test results showed a p (Value) = 0.000, which interpreted that p (Value) = 0.000 < p 0.05. The conclusion of this research shows that there is an effect of peer educator modeling in increasing the knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia at MTs BPI Baturompe Tasikmalaya City in 2023.
